  1. For me, the most easiest part was the introduction, specifically coming up with the thesis statement. This is mostly due to the class discussion yesterday where we were able to peer-review other people 2-Page Analysis. Not to mention, there was a in-depth explanation of what the thesis should be and multiple example to look through. The challenging parts were the body, specifically connection to pathos and logos. Another challenge was knowing when to put what I have for my notes and putting it at the right spot. I would like to discuss who are we specifically writing to for this essay, is it for people familiar with the text?

  2. I found writing the introduction was the easiest in my opinion because you basically give recap about what the article was all about. what I found the most challenging was somewhat writing the body paragraphs because I didn’t really know what to wrote but then I soon became more eased into it. I would want more guidance in my intro if it needed to be worked on more, if I got the main idea down.

  3. I think the easiet thing during the essay is the body paragraphs. The most challenging is my introduction because I took a long time to figure out how to get started. I want guidance on my body paragraphs because I want to make sure that I am not summarizing the quote.

  4. I found that the body paragraphs, or the analysis, was easy to write because I had done it before in high school, and I actually already used Mother Tongue as one of the texts, so I remember what I thought Tan’s rhetorical strategies were. Also, the conclusion was easy to write because I just wrapped up what I wrote as Tan’s rhetorical strategies and what I wrote in my intro. What I found challenging was writing a thesis statement that would include everything I wrote in the body paragraphs, like how Tan used Ethos and Pathos. I would want guidance on my analysis to see if it makes sense and also I would want to see if my thesis statement is strong.

  5. It wasn’t easy to write at all. I had trouble coming up with the introduction which took me more than 40 minutes to do, body paragraphs which took me more than a few hours to do, and the conclusion which took me like 20 – 30 minutes to do. I tried to imitates the sample essay in order to progress my essay and thoughts. Not gonna lie, I actually wrote my body paragraphs of my ideas backward. One thing that I might want guidance on before heading to my final draft is perhaps someone reading over my essay and giving advice/feedback. I was never good at writing essay. I just proceed to tackle the essay without any plans. I just go with the flow and write down any ideas that comes to my mind.

  6. I found it moderately easy to write about the Pathos component as Tan definitely shed light on how the stigmatization that her mother faced for her English greatly impacted her view on the different versions she used. However, it was challenging to piece together some crucial moments as Tan went all over the place at times. Honestly, I felt I rushed quite a bit of my writing and I felt my analysis didn’t reach its fullest potential, and I’d have to focus more on how certain quotes exactly impacted the text’s rhetoric.

  7. The drafting process was very helpful in order to make my essay better. The introduction was easy to write but the rest of the essay was a little difficult to connect together to make it as a whole essay instead of separate topics. I believe I just want someone to just go through my essay and see if it makes sense. Other than that, the drafting process wasn’t bad.

  8. I found it easy to write about the analysis of the text. When it came to writing about the purpose and explaining the examples I found it easy. I found the rhetorical part a bit more challenging as it was something somewhat new to write about. One thing that I believe would help is maybe going over some examples in class together to help piece our essays together.

  9. The summary was not difficult to write about as I had been used to giving background knowledge of the rhetorical analysis. When I was analyzing the Hughes’s pathos appeal in the poem I struggle with which emotion was portrayed, as he same to rely more ethos to persuade his audience. I would like for my peer to give feedback on my thesis and my analysis of pathos in Hughes’s poem, I think different readers will present to their understanding of the thesis which will be really helpful for my final draft.

  10. While drafting I found it easy to write an introduction, writing an introduction to me is writing out how the structure of my essay will be. I find dificult to analyze the pieces of evidence I chose and connect it to the thesis statement, I feel as thought I have ideas in my head that make sense to me but sometimes it’s challenging for me to put them into words that will make sense, Writing a conclusion can sometimes be challenging for me as well because having to figure out a way other than restating the thesis again I find can be a bit difficult. I would want guidance based on if my points make sense/clear and correctly answer what the prompt asks.

  11. While doing the drafting process I found it easy to find elements of logos, ethos, and pathos to analyze what the author is doing. However, I found it hard to put my statements in the context of the reader and sometimes I would write what I thought was happening. Also, I had problems with my thesis but with discussions on Tuesday’s class I believe that I have learned how to make it better. I feel like I need some guidance on if my work sounds like a summary because I have some self doubths.

  12. I thought writing the rhetorical points was easy to write. I was able to find these rhetorical points a lot easier than trying to begin and end the essay. Writing the conclusion and introduction was pretty challenging. I want a bit more guidance on my introduction. I want to know what I can work more on in my introduction if I’m missing anything.

  13. I found writing the introduction was easier than writing the body paragraphs and conclusion. Since we already did rhetorical worksheets on our text, I was able to easier identify the rhetorical situation and how to introduce the author of the text. I found my conclusion challenging to write because I just didn’t want to restate my introduction. Thus, I had trouble on figuring out what I should put in my conclusion. I wish to have more guidance on my body paragraphs. I want a second perspective on my writing to see if I made my analysis clear enough.

  14. I feel like what was easy for me is outlinng the ext and choosing what purticularlly am I going to write and focus on it.
What was the most challenging is trying not to summarize the text.
One thing that I think I need advice in before starting the final draft is a way to avoid summarizing the text (because without noticing, after I write any argument or analysis sntince I just summarize the whole part that was stated in the text)

  15. For me, the drafting process consisted of me figuring out what I want to include in the essay. I had a lot ideas on what I want to write about but I have to pick and choose the important things so it doesn’t seem like I’m analyzing the text. It was easy for me to find evidence to back up my argument but it was hard to choose an argument that can be backed up by the evidences I had. Something I want guidance on is if the evidences I used actually supports my argument or is it all over the place.

  16. The easiest things to write in my opinion was the brief summary and the body paragraphs. I think the only challenging bit was the thesis, the thesis in my opinion was good but I just didn’t know how to make it better. I want guidance on my thesis on how to make it a stronger thesis.

  17. I found the introduction and my overall structure of my essay to be easy. Challenging to me was trying to use rhetorical strategies such as the appeal to pathos, ethos, and logos. I would like guidance on the body of my essay so it can stand out more evidence for the author but other than that I feel confident in my essay

  18. I think my body paragraphs were the easiet to write. The most challenging was my introducation and conclusion. I suppose I would simply want a little feedback on my intro and body paragraphs. I just want to know if you understand what I’m trying to say and I’m not jumping from topic to topic.
